10 Top Boy Dog Names For 2021

    -

What can be better than naming a new puppy? That being said, finding the perfect name can be somewhat of a challenge. That’s why we scoured the web and social media to find the top trending boy dog names of 2021.

    1. Oliver

I simply love the name Oliver or Ollie for short. Oliver is originally derived from the Latin word olivarius meaning olive tree planter. Maybe a perfect fit if your little guy likes to dig!

    2. Winston

My sweet doggy nephew is named Winston so this one is close to my heart. Winston is also the name of Gwen Stefani’s Hungarian sheepdog.

    3. Joey

Joey is a newer dog name to me. But the more I hear it the more it grows on me. Bonus fact: according to National Geographic, female kangaroos sport a pouch on their belly, made by a fold in the skin, to cradle baby kangaroos called joeys.

    4. Charlie

The name Charlie is a boy’s name of English origin meaning “free man”. I think this is the perfect name for a lab or retriever.

    5. Coop/Cooper

Cooper or Coop would be fitting for a wild pup full of zest and energy.

    6. Max

Max is such a traditional dog name. But for a fun twist try calling a smaller pup Max.

    7. Bear

I’m not sure there’s anything I love more than naming animals after different animal species, case in point. Bear. A good friend of mine named their English Bulldog, Turtle. If that doesn’t scream the emoji heart eyes, I don’t know what will.

    8. Norman

What a strong, traditional name. The first “person“that comes to mind, is Norman Rockwell, American painter and illustrator. Over the course of his career, Rockwell had 323 cover illustrations for The Saturday Evening Post, and 55 of those covers featured dogs! (* insert more emoji heart eyes)

    9. Tank

I can personally claim part of this name. My son is obsessed with all things military and we just added an 11 week old Boston Terrier, French Bulldog to our family. (HE IS THE SWEETEST/CUTEST). When it came to naming the lil fella, we settled on Frankie. Basically so my son can call him Frank the Tank.

    10. Chico

I think the name Chico would be super fitting for a chihuahua. An Australian Cattle Dog shared the silver screen with Johnny Depp in the Stephen King-penned horror story Secret Window.

We’d love to hear what you named your boy dog in 2021, comment and share below!

Liz is a Arizona native and mom two young children and one not so young Boston Terrier, Leroy. Leroy has been the center of her families beautiful life, which includes tons of travel and road trips. She is also a loving doggy aunt to Winston, Bullseye and Maple, a Boston Terrier, English Bully and Wheaten Terrier.
