Although this hotel doesn’t allow pets in public areas, dining areas, and guest rooms, they make exceptions for service dogs. When you book your stay, be sure to let them know that you have a service dog. You may also need to answer some questions, such as what your pet is trained to do and why you need a service animal.
2. John Rutledge House Inn
At the John Rutledge House Inn, you’ll experience Southern hospitality in an historical setting. Dating back to 1763, this building was home to John Rutledge, a signer of the U.S. Constitution. Today, this bed and breakfast showcases elegant features throughout the rooms and suites in the main house and two carriage houses.
The best part is you can enjoy this extraordinary place with your pet. Dog-friendly accommodations are available for an extra $40 per day, but they are limited. So, to ensure you get the room you want for yourself and your dog, contact the hotel directly.

3. Hotel Bennett
Located on King Street, Hotel Bennett provides luxurious accommodations, and you can enjoy a VIP experience if you book King’s Club access. Plus, the hotel offers fine dining so you can indulge in delicious foods, and it has a spa where you can be pampered for ultimate relaxation.
You can bring up to two dogs to stay with you at Hotel Bennett, but each dog can’t weigh more than 25 pounds. They charge a $200 non-refundable cleaning fee. Also, dogs aren’t allowed in public areas, so be sure to know the rules about where you can take your pet during your stay.

5. Grand Bohemian Hotel Charleston
The Grand Bohemian Hotel Charleston is a boutique hotel found in the Historic District. It provides modern rooms where you can recharge in between sightseeing, dining, and shopping. Plus, you can spend time at the hotel’s wine bar and rooftop restaurant.
Pets are allowed at this hotel, but there are extra fees per stay. If you are planning on staying with one dog, the non-refundable fee is $150. If you are bringing a second dog, you’ll need to pay an additional $50. Also, your pet can’t weigh more than 25 pounds.
6. The Ryder Hotel
The Ryder Hotel boasts a unique aesthetic, and you can dig into yummy cocktails and flavorful foods at Little Palm, their poolside café and cocktail bar. Plus, it’s located downtown, so you’ll be able to easily enjoy everything that Charleston has to offer.
You can book a room at The Ryder Hotel with your furry friend, but there are weight limits and you can only have up to two pets per room (there may be an extra fee for the second pet). You’ll also need to pay a cleaning fee per stay.
7. Emeline

Emeline is a pet-friendly hotel that’s happy to help you take great care of your dog. Their Pawsome Package includes a bed, mat, and bowl for your pet, along with a treat made by the hotel’s pastry chef, and you can also ask about their organic treats. Just keep in mind that the weight limit per dog is 40 pounds, you’re only allowed to have two pets per room, and there’s a $100 cleaning fee.
